While Honorlock and Proctorio are the primary online proctoring options, the university also contracts with Meazure Learning, which has ProctorU that provides a live proctor option. (One proctor observes 3-5 students at a time.) 

Note: there is a cost increase for using ProctorU compared to our other proctoring options.

Online proctoring is not a free service. Faculty teaching an online course that requires proctoring should consider how the service will be funded. Check with your program or department before requesting proctoring services to confirm how your course will fund online proctoring.

The following are key considerations in determining funding:

  • Is your course a UF Online course? The UF Online Program funds the use of online proctoring. 
  • Is your course part of a Self-Supporting program? Self-funded programs fund the use of online proctoring. 
  • Is your course set up to charge a Distance Learning Fee to cover proctoring?
  • Is your course online? Hybrid? Face to Face?   For hybrid and face to face classes you may use online proctoring services however your department or college will be billed for the usage. 

If you aren't sure if you have funding to cover the use of online proctoring services, discuss with your department.
